Spay & Neuter Clinic Weekend
This weekend (May 12-14) is the Spay and Neuter Task Force’s first clinic of the year, being held in Maskwacis, AB. Last year in Maskwacis, they managed to complete 274 dog spay/neuters, 206 cat spay/neuters and . placed 114 stray ore surrendered animals into partner rescue groups care. In total, 594 animals were assisted in ONE weekend!
As you can imagine, this makes for a very busy weekend and most of our staff and volunteers are headed to Maskwacis to assist in any way they can. While it’s not ideal that we have so many animals in care right now going into a clinic weekend (17 dogs and 1 cat currently in our facility), we are still offering our services and opening our doors to as many strays/surrenders as we can take in.
We won’t be having an adoption event this weekend at the shelter due to the packed weekend, however you can still message the Facebook page to book a meet and greet and we’ll get you in as soon as possible to meet your new family member.
If you’re interested in helping out with Spay and Neuter clinics in the future, please visit their website at https://abtaskforce.org/ and register to volunteer; each clinic requires over 130 general volunteers!
