Willy's Rescue Feature.

We are here with another rescue feature! This month we are showcasing Willy and his journey of adoption and recovery. Willy came to us in January with old lacerations covering much of his legs and some of his face. He also had a fever of 40.4. Willy was in rough condition. He needed immediate care and we rushed to his aid. He started to improve and was up for adoption! His dreams came true when he was adopted by his forever family. Please read on to hear an update from his new mom and to see some pictures of how well he is doing:

We brought Willy home Friday Feb 19, Willy is not my first rescue dog and what really drew him to us is that he needed some TLC. I saw his story and his picture with his jammies on and I thought that’s it…that's our dog. My husband asked "Well what about his skin" and I replied with "It'll grow back don’t you worry". So, we arranged a time for us to meet him and we couldn't have been more excited.

Willy is the biggest suck in this entire world, when we read in his description "he just always wants to be touched", that couldn’t be more accurate. He is the most lovable dog ever and loves absolutely everyone. Anyone who has met Willy knows he's just a happy guy. I think every pet owner can agree that their animal has their own quirk. With Willy, its that he touches his paws against your hands and does a big stretch. He's really come out of his shell and has the energy of a puppy, he's learned manners walking and waiting for other people & dogs to walk by. We are very proud of the progress he's made. It's like what he went through is so far gone, he doesn’t have that fear anymore. He knows he's safe and we got his back.

Being a rescue owner is so rewarding in the fact that you have taken a living being that so deserves to be loved and cared for like any other dog and have helped them overcome their fears, help them show their true self; whatever it may be. It has also taught me to be more patient and has shown me that the time we put into their well being reflects on us too. Their love is so unconditional, I cant imagine my life without Willy. I will always continue to rescue in the future.

Now that Willy has been around for about 3 months, he is attached to the hip. He would follow around before but at night, he liked sleeping on the couch. The door was always open to him to come sleep upstairs with us but now, he sleeps in his doggy bed right beside our bed every night. He always has the biggest puppy eyes and has all the love in the world. He warms my heart every time I look at him. We are very grateful to have him.

See below 2 photos of Willy before, and then some new photos of him being the goofy, recovered boy that he is!
