Nash's Story
Nash at the shelter
Nash -then Cheetah , came to SGAS in 2021as a stray suffering from porcupine quills. The amazing Team at Central Vet performed surgery to remove as many as they could.
Read below to hear from his foster- and eventual adopter, about his journey
Nash came to us as a medical foster in Oct of 2021. He had severe pneumonia and the vet told us one of the worst quill cases she had seen. His face was SO big and infection was everywhere. I had to have pulled at LEAST another 50 quill tips as the infection came out, poor guy!
He bonded to our dog Knox instantly and totally looked to him for how to learn and get through life. Knox has always led all our fosters but Nash took a really special interest in him. He stayed with us for a few months when we realized there was no way we could return him, so after fostering dozens of animals we finally failed haha
We learned a pretty cool back story on him too. He was brought in as a pup for a spay and neuter program and all the dogs from that property were surrendered except Nash (who was brought in and given the name Cheetah) and his mom who had to go back and live at that property. A few years later they were surrendered due to huge medical needs. Crazy he came so close to rescue once but so glad he was able to be rescued a few years later
