Muppet's Story
Muppet’s arrival at the shelter
Muppet originally came into our care in May of 2023. She arrived matted, unhandled, and terrified of people. Due to her previous circumstances Muppet had zero trust in people. It was up to us to work on her courage.
In July of 2023 Muppet would find her forever home! Still unsure of the world around her, her new family decided to give her a chance and welcomed her into their lives. She liked other dogs but not people. She had to be on a leash 24/7 for weeks cause you could not catch her. Her tail was tucked between her legs at all times.
After a few months She started to come out of her shell, with guidance from her new owner’s older PON poodle X, Molly.
Their friends are still amazed at how far Muppet has come. She is still afraid of loud noises, and garbage cans. Doesn't play much, especially with balls or toys. What Muppet does enjoy however is to be outside! She loves to walk, camp and kayak . Though she doesn’t enjoy being picked up, she enjoys a good snuggle once she has settled in! Her owners say she is now a confident, wonderful dog!
Muppet has had the opportunity to experience many adventures with her new family! Her story is a testament to what a little love, and a lot of patience, can do!
